Come and discuss this month's topic: Historical Events During My Lifetime ( news cuttings, books, pictures)! Recollections is a revival of the library's older adult program, an opportunity to gather and share memories on a central theme. While anyone is welcome, content is designed for those who are at least 60 years of age. Programs will be held in the library's downstairs meeting room at 10:30 AM on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Please use the outside ramp or stairs on the north side of the building. Library membership is not required and there is no fee for participation.

Have you been interested in chess but have no one to play with? Or do you wish to learn how to play but don't know where to start? Here is a fun opportunity to play and learn the rules of chess with members of the local community! Join Salem Public Library on Thursday, July 30th, from 4 PM - 6 PM for a new chess club! This chess club is beginner friendly and appropriate for all ages. It will take place in the north basement meeting room. There is no library card or fee required to participate. Non-alcoholic drinks and food are allowed. Cookies will be provided.

Our guest presenter will be Lester Lakey, an archaeologist who has explored places and things from the past throughout Mark Twain National Forest.
